Salary: FC6 £31,761.26 - £34,914.86

Hours: 36 hours per week

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Welfare Support Assistant to join the Levenmouth Community Learning and Development Team. This is an opportunity to work directly with individuals and families, helping them access the support, advice and services they need to improve their financial wellbeing, build confidence, and achieve their goals.

No two days are the same. You will work in community venues and outreach settings across Levenmouth, supporting people to access welfare benefits, digital services, employability opportunities and wider community support. You will be part of a dedicated team committed to reducing inequality and helping people thrive.

The Person

You will be someone who enjoys working with people and can build positive, trusting relationships with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds.

You will have:

  • Experience of working in a customer service, support, advice or community-based role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An understanding of the challenges faced by people experiencing poverty, unemployment or social exclusion.
  • Confidence using IT systems and supporting others to access online services.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of welfare benefits, employability services or community support provision would be beneficial.

Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
