Job Summary:

The Well Engineer is responsible for supporting the planning and delivery of well construction, drilling, completion, and intervention programmes. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will contribute to well planning, engineering design, execution readiness, and continuous improvement activities across one of the UK's largest offshore developments.

This role requires strong technical capability, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple disciplines and service lines to ensure wells are delivered efficiently and in line with customer objectives. You will work closely with SLB business lines, customer representatives, and operational teams to bring together the various elements required for successful well delivery.

The role offers excellent exposure to integrated well construction activities and provides opportunities for career progression within both technical and leadership pathways.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Support execution readiness activities, including needs lists, performance packages, quality control documentation, and operational reviews.
  • Provide engineering support to drilling, completion, and intervention operations as required.
  • Contribute to the integration of multiple services to ensure seamless well construction and delivery.
  • Support planning and operations teams in delivering project objectives and customer requirements.
  • Act as a key interface between SLB, the customer, and multiple service providers to ensure alignment across planning and operational activities.
  • Coordinate engineering deliverables and planning activities across multiple technical disciplines.

  • Provide engineering support to drilling, completion, and intervention operations as required.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Extensive experience within Well Engineering, Drilling Engineering, Completions Engineering, or related well construction disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of well planning and execution processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • IWCF Well Control certification.

Preferred Skills:

  • UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) or North Sea offshore experience.
  • Completions engineering or completion operations experience.
  • Experience working directly with operators or integrated project teams.
  • Knowledge of well planning and engineering workflows.
  • Understanding of drilling, completion, intervention, and well integrity requirements.
  • Experience coordinating multiple service lines and subcontractors.
