UNDERGRADUATE INTERN – Wellbeing and Stimulation
Location: Southampton
Duration: Fixed-term (12 months)
About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for students who are currently undertaking a degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Biomedical Sciences, Nutritional Sciences (or a related subject) to join our Research & Development function, based in Southampton, on a 12-month undergraduate placement.
This placement is within our Product R&D team and provides the opportunity to support the team in designing and evaluating consumer wellbeing products as part of our new Ryde brand. The role will involve reviewing the science behind ingredients for potential use in new dietary supplements, running research studies to assess their effects, and developing externally facing science content to help educate and inform consumers about our products (e.g. via blog posts and social media clips).
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing scientific literature to evaluate potential ingredient and product development opportunities
- Helping to design and run human behavioural studies to assess the effects of products and ingredients on user’s cognitive function and mood
- Analysing data and interpreting results to help inform decision making
- Writing-up and presenting scientific findings to a range of different audiences
- Creating accurate and engaging consumer-focused science content for blog posts, websites and social media clips
- Learning about developing new products within a cross-functional team of experts

What We're Looking For
- Working towards an Undergraduate degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Biomedical Sciences, Nutritional Sciences (or similar)
- Interest in health and wellbeing and in developing associated consumer products
- Knowledge of the basic principles of human behavioural study design and an interest in running and evaluating associated studies
- Basic understanding of statistics
- Critical thinker with excellent attention to detail and a ‘can-do’ attitude
