Wellbeing Coordinator

Working pattern: Part Time, 50 hours per week
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract - September 2026 - August 2027
Live-in position: Successful applicants must be a student and will be provided with student accommodation
Salary: £740 per month (£336.40 deducted each month for accommodation)
We are looking for a live-in Wellbeing Coordinator to live within this student accommodation and become an integral part of the daily lives of our students, with particular focus on supporting those under the age of 18. As the Wellbeing Coordinator, your presence will contribute significantly to ensuring that our students feel safe, comfortable and part of the residential community.
You will work with the Head of Student Experience & College Operations (the Designated Safeguarding Lead) and the College Services Team to ensure the safeguarding and duty of care of our U18 students living in the residence.
Your Responsibilities
- Work on a week on, week off rota.
- When on duty, live within the accommodation, and be on or near site from 19:00-08:00, contactable at all times to respond to any issue.
- Carry out active check ins with under-18 students undertaking welfare checks as necessary.
- Provide assistance throughout the night for any emergencies with students.
- Be present at the residence during Welcome Weekends to lead on the U18 students welcome and induction programme, assisting students to settle and integrate into the residence, the environment and location in the first days of arriving in the UK, offering support and guidance as needed.
- Work with the College Services Team and Residence Team to help deliver/events and activities and organise informal “catch ups” in small groups or as a one to one.
- Develop strong knowledge of and follow appropriate guidelines and protocols in all areas of your role.
- Promote good resident welfare and ensure compliance with Kaplan UK Pathways Student Code of Conduct and residence behaviour policies.
- Along with the College team, take responsibility for the Safeguarding and duty of care for students who are staying in Kaplan residential accommodation.
- Work with college and residence staff to create a welcoming, safe and friendly environment for our students.
- Provide quick and appropriate response by emails and any other communication channels used to help effect a quick resolution of issues arising.
- Report welfare, child safety, medical, pastoral, and building issues to the College team and where appropriate to the residence management.
- Provide practical assistance, such as helping students set up medical appointments.
- Assist with residence administration including room inspections, arrivals, and departures.

What You’ll Bring to the Role
- Evidence of being interested in and committed to supporting the welfare of young persons.
- Open and approachable manner, empathetic nature with good listening skills and high intercultural awareness.
- Strong communication skills including clear, spoken English with ability to grade language appropriately for non-native speakers.
- Be resilient and have good understanding of how to maintain professional boundaries and relationships with other residents living in the property.
- Ability to receive, understand and convey information clearly, and able to produce clear written communication including incident reports.
- Prompt to act and escalate as needed when issues arise and empathetic and proactive in following up issues to resolution.
- Commitment to learning and following agreed guidelines and procedures.
- Ability to work in close partnership with other team members, building trust and rapport, ensuring timely, regular exchange of information and communication.
