Job Description

This post presents an exciting opportunity to become a Wellbeing Practitioner at our Personal Wellbeing service covering the Wiltshire area. Commissioned by HMPPS this service is focused on supporting adult male ex-offenders by delivering focused interventions across the following pathways:

  • Family and Significant Others
  • Lifestyle and Associates
  • Emotional Wellbeing Services
  • Social Inclusion

Your role will be to support service users to develop strategies to manage emotions and deliver skills training to foster self-confidence by knowing how to access appropriate support. You will also support service users to increase capacity to undertake activities to support daily living and advocate for service users in conjunction with multi-agency partners to engage with treatment and other professionals/services (MH teams/support groups). Your role will support our team in achieving our Justice Business Plan objectives: innovate, revitalise and reform the delivery of Justice Services.

This role will involve working in close partnership with delivery partners, HMPPS, Voluntary Sector and other Criminal Justice organisations to promote and deliver our services and achieve the required outputs and outcomes.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Driving license and access to a Vehicle (this role will require travel to offices across the Wiltshire area and travel to other offices for Meetings and Training).
  • Good basic education, including Maths and English GCSE or equivalent.
  • Experience of proficiently working with Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel.
  • Experience of working with People in the Criminal Justice System and/or disadvantaged people.
  • Knowledge of: local partners/statutory agencies/associated services.
  • An understanding of the importance of risk assessment and management.
  • An understanding of safeguarding adults and children.
  • Understanding of emotional well-being support principles.

Desirable

  • Any qualification relevant to rehabilitation of offenders, for example criminology/criminal justice/social care/mental health/IAG/Family Services/Emotional Wellbeing/Social Inclusion.

  • Contract: Full Time - Permanent
  • Hours: 38 per week
  • Salary: £26,097 per annum

Screening: Successful admission to post subject to enhanced DBS check, HMPPS vetting check, and employer Right To Work in the UK check. The post-holder must have the right to work in the UK. Shift patterns:

Shifts will typically take place between 09:00 and 17:00, however there is a minimum of 1 evening per week required until 19:30. On the day of the late shift you will start later to remain within contractual hours.
