Role Description
The Assistant Production Accountant is a full-time role based in Glasgow with a hybrid working arrangement, allowing some work from home. In this position, the individual supports the production accounting team by maintaining accurate financial records for multiple documentary projects, including processing invoices, purchase orders, and expense claims. - Reconciling production accounts
- Assisting with cash flow tracking
- Preparing cost reports
- Ensuring production budgets are updated and compliant with company policies

The role also involves:
- Liaising with production managers, suppliers, and freelancers to resolve queries
- Coordinating payment schedules
- Helping with month-end and project-end financial reporting
The Assistant Production Accountant contributes to smooth production operations by providing timely financial information, supporting audits, and maintaining organized financial documentation.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Accounting and Finance principles, with the ability to apply them in a production environment.
- Experience or familiarity with Project Accounting, including tracking costs against budgets and managing production-related expenditures.
- Solid Analytical Skills and the ability to interpret financial data, identify variances, and support decision-making.
- Understanding of Cash Flow management, including monitoring inflows and outflows and supporting payment schedules.
- Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g., Excel or similar tools) and strong numerical accuracy.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with production teams, suppliers, and external partners.
- Relevant qualification or working towards a qualification in accounting, finance, or a related field; experience in film, TV, or media production finance is an advantage.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment, demonstrating reliability, discretion with confidential information, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
