Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Wet Room Vinyl Flooring Fitter – Cap & Cove role based in London. The role involves preparing subfloors, installing wet room vinyl flooring with cap and cove details, and ensuring watertight finishes in bathrooms and shower areas. Day-to-day tasks include measuring and cutting materials accurately, forming and welding joints, applying adhesives, and checking levels and drainage suitability. The fitter will coordinate with plumbers, tilers, and other trades to align flooring work with overall bathroom installations and project timelines. Responsibilities also include maintaining a safe work environment, following health and safety regulations, and completing jobs to a high standard of workmanship and cleanliness.

  • Strong practical skills in wet room vinyl flooring installation, including cap and cove fitting, floor preparation, and basic floor levelling.
  • Experience reading and working from technical drawings, layout plans, and installation specifications.
  • Knowledge of waterproofing principles, drainage considerations, and relevant building and safety regulations.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently, including cutting, welding, and adhesive application tools.
  • Good attention to detail, quality-focused approach, and commitment to delivering durable, clean finishes.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with other trades and site supervisors.
  • Capability to work on-site, manage time well, and adapt to different project environments and schedules.
  • Previous experience as a flooring fitter or bathroom installer; wet room or healthcare/commercial bathroom experience is an advantage.
  • Relevant trade qualifications, vocational training, or apprenticeship in flooring installation or a related field are beneficial.
  • Understanding of health and safety practices, including safe manual handling and the use of personal protective equipment.
