Currently, we have a position for ST3+ Anaesthesia Fellowships based at the William Harvey Hospital, designed to support the development of RCoA Stage 2 (ST4-equivalent) capabilities and strengthen applications for Higher Training pathways.

Responsibilities
The post holder will undertake clinical anaesthetic duties at ST3+ level, including elective and emergency work and participation in the on-call rota (obstetrics, theatres, ED, PCI, trauma, and transfers). The role is 48 hours per week. The on-call commitment is currently arranged as a 1:8 full rota.

In addition, the fellow will undertake a subspecialty fellowship, gaining focused experience in their chosen area.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Delivery of safe anaesthesia and perioperative care appropriate to Stage 2 level
- Participation in subspecialty clinical activity, clinics, and MDT working
- Completion of workplace-based assessments mapped to RCoA Stage 2 outcomes
- Involvement in quality improvement, audit, and/or research projects
- Contribution to teaching and training of junior staff and multidisciplinary teams
- Engagement with clinical governance and service development activities
The post holder will work under the supervision of a named Educational Supervisor and subspecialty consultant leads. The fellowships are designed to support the development of RCoA Stage 2 (ST4-equivalent) capabilities and strengthen applications for Higher Training pathways.
