We’re Supporting a Major UK Energy Organisation Expanding Its Whole Energy Forecasting Capability, With Opportunities Across a Number Of Specialist Areas, Including

- Consumer / Planning Assumptions
- Regional & Whole Energy Pathways
These roles offer the opportunity to help shape how future energy supply and demand across Great Britain is modelled, forecast and planned.
The role
You’ll undertake modelling and analysis to develop regional whole-energy supply and demand pathways, working across areas such as electricity, hydrogen, biomethane, heat, transport, industry and consumer demand.

You’ll work with energy specialists to develop forecasting approaches, assumptions and scenarios, bringing together local energy datasets and ensuring analysis aligns with wider national energy plans.
The Role Will Also Involve
- Developing forecasting models and analytical approaches
- Working with complex energy and distribution-level datasets
- Supporting whole-system and scenario modelling
- Researching emerging energy trends, technologies and modelling techniques
- Translating analysis into clear insights for decision-makers
- Working with internal modelling teams, networks and industry stakeholders
- Contributing to the development of new methodologies and analytical processes
What we're looking for
You’ll ideally bring experience in energy forecasting, supply/demand analysis, energy-system modelling or quantitative energy analysis, alongside strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience with Python, SQL, R, MATLAB, Excel/VBA or similar analytical tools would be highly relevant.
We’re particularly interested in backgrounds covering electricity or gas demand, network/distribution planning, whole-energy systems, heat, transport/EVs, hydrogen, biomethane, industry, consumer demand or energy scenarios.
A STEM, Statistics, Economics, Data Science or related analytical background is preferred, although relevant industry experience will also be considered.
