Wholesale Account Executive
Location / Region: North East of England & Yorkshire
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time
Working Pattern: Monday-Friday (No Weekend Working)
Salary / Rate: £33,000 to £35,000 per annum including a 10% annual bonus, company car & fuel card.
Other Benefits: Tax Free Lunch allowance, Company Vehicle + Fuel Card
About the Role
The Wholesale Account Executive is responsible for accelerating growth across a portfolio of 15-20 wholesale and cash & carry customers. Through strong customer partnerships and effective route to market activation, you will drive distribution, increase product availability, and grow market share across the OOH Ice Cream channel.
Working closely with route to market partners, customers, and internal stakeholders, you will identify growth opportunities, develop and execute customer business plans, and deliver against sales and market share targets.
As the face of Magnum Ice Cream Company within your region, you will build influential customer relationships, lead commercial activation initiatives, and support channel growth through depot engagement, telesales activity, and new business development opportunities.
This role will be remote based but require once monthly attendance at our office in Kingston Upon Thames for in-person collaboration.

Responsibilities
- Own and deliver the P&L performance across Regional Route to Market (RRTM) wholesalers and key Cash & Carry accounts.
- Drive sales growth, market share, profitability, and distribution across your customer portfolio.
- Use sales-in and sales-out data to identify opportunities, track performance, and support effective decision-making.
- Partner with the field sales team to target high potential outlets and unlock new growth opportunities.
- Develop and deliver customer account plans with clear short-term objectives and long-term growth strategies.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels within customer organisations.
- Lead Joint Business Planning (JBP) activity, ensuring plans remain relevant through regular reviews and are fully documented.
- Create and implement customer incentive programs that help drive sales growth and increase market share.
- Manage customer investment, forecasting, and financial accruals with accuracy and strong commercial discipline.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities while growing existing customer partnerships.
- Conduct regular business reviews to evaluate performance and agree future development plans.
- Negotiate promotional activity and commercial agreements in line with business objectives.
- Support product launches, category initiatives, and seasonal campaigns to maximise sales opportunities.
- Monitor market, customer, and competitor activity to identify trends and commercial opportunities.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and performance reporting.
- Work closely with Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Category, Customer Service, and Route to Market teams to deliver business objectives.
- Organise territory and account activity effectively to maximise customer engagement and business performance.
- Share customer insights and best practice to support wider business planning and strategic growth.

Essential Skills
- Strong communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Commercially minded, with a strong understanding of business fundamentals, profit delivery, and customer management.
- Proven ability to analyse sales and customer data to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable insights.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and deliver against deadlines.
- Strong negotiation skills and a track record of delivering sales growth and commercial targets.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and workstreams while maintaining high levels of accuracy.
- Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Full UK driving licence.
Experience Required
- Previous experience in sales, account management, business development, or customer facing commercial roles.
- Demonstrated success in delivering and exceeding sales, volume, and profitability targets.
- Experience building strong customer relationships and managing key stakeholder interactions.
- Proven ability to translate data and insights into effective customer plans and business recommendations.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within FMCG, foodservice, wholesale, convenience, or consumer goods sectors.
- Knowledge of regional wholesalers, cash & carry operators, and independent customer channels.
- Experience using CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
- Understanding of category management and customer growth planning.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams.
