The portfolio covers seven key categories and includes proactive marketing support, innovative point-of-sale materials, strategic social campaigns, and dynamic growth-focused initiatives.

Role Description

The Wholesale Beauty & Emerging Trends Buyer is a full-time, on-site role based in Magherafelt. This role is responsible for identifying, sourcing, and purchasing beauty products and emerging trend-led brands for PSL’s wholesale portfolio. Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Monitoring market trends
  • Analyzing sales and margin performance
  • Negotiating pricing and terms with suppliers
  • Managing relationships with existing and potential brand partners

The Buyer will collaborate closely with sales and marketing teams to align product selection with channel strategies across pharmacy, grocery, department stores, and online retailers. The role also involves:

  • Forecasting demand
  • Planning assortment
  • Reviewing stock levels
  • Ensuring timely delivery to support commercial objectives and brand growth

Qualifications

  • Experience in buying, merchandising, or category management within beauty, health, or FMCG sectors, with strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to research and analyze market data and trends, including competitive activity and consumer behavior, to inform product selection and assortment decisions.
  • Skills in supplier and stakeholder relationship management, with a collaborative approach to working with sales, marketing, and operations teams.
  • Competence in demand forecasting, inventory planning, and basic financial analysis (e.g., margin, pricing, and profitability metrics).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple product ranges and deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills suitable for internal presentations, supplier discussions, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Proficiency with MS Office or similar tools; experience with ERP or inventory management systems is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in the UK/Ireland health and beauty retail or wholesale environment is beneficial.
  • Relevant qualification in business, retail management, marketing, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
