Astute’s Renewables Team is partnering with a leading renewable energy consultancy with a strong focus on sustainability, safety and professional development, to recruit a Wind Farm Site Manager to oversee operations and maintenance activities across renewable energy sites in the Inverness region.
The Wind Farm Site Manager role comes with a competitive salary of up to £48,000, pension, benefits and flexible home-based working.

Responsibilities and duties of the Wind Farm Site Manager role
Reporting To The Area Manager You Will
- Manage the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of renewable energy sites, including inspections and emergency response.
- Operate and maintain HV/LV electrical equipment in line with relevant Safety Rules.
- Manage the permit-to-work system, ensuring works are completed safely and in accordance with company and client requirements.
- Review contractor SSOW and risk assessments, ensuring personnel are suitably inducted and competent.
- Coordinate PPM activities, ensuring works are completed on schedule and in line with HSE requirements.
- Liaise with DNOs and Transmission Licencees regarding outages and works near system boundaries.
- Complete site inspections, audits and reports, while maintaining accurate H&S, environmental and O&M documentation.
- Record and follow up incidents, support new site/equipment integration and participate in the 24-hour on-call rota.

Professional Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Experience with HV/LV electrical systems.
- Experience in maintenance, fault-finding and repair of electro-mechanical systems.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
- IOSH or NEBOSH would be advantageous.
- Previous renewable energy experience would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of wind turbine technology would be beneficial.
Personal skills
The Wind Farm Site Manager role would suit someone who is:
- A confident and experienced electrical professional with strong HV/LV knowledge.
- Safety-focused with a strong understanding of safe systems of work.
- Organised and capable of coordinating contractors, maintenance activities and site operations.
- Flexible to travel when required, with occasional overnight stays.
- Physically fit in line with industry/GWO requirements.
- Flexible to participate in an on-call rota.
- Able to work independently while maintaining strong communication with clients, contractors and internal teams.

Salary and benefits of the Wind Farm Site Manager role
- Competitive salary of up to £48,000.
- Professional development and training opportunities, including support to become a fully qualified HV SAP.
- Additional earning potential through qualification uplifts, overtime and on-call payments once fully qualified as an HV SAP.
- Potential for approximately £10,000 additional on-target earnings through qualification progression once fully qualified as an HV SAP, subject to the company’s current structure.
