As we continue to grow, we are now seeking to strengthen the Service and Operations team with a number of Wind Turbine Technician roles to cover our Blacklaw & Hagshaw sites.

Our Team

Our brilliant Service Team is expanding, and we are looking for an exceptional individual to complement our existing team of highly skilled technicians. You will be willing to work collaboratively, display strong fault-finding skills & experience and be ready to help us continue to drive towards a world powered by renewable energy. The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for the servicing, maintenance and fault-finding activities on Siemens 2.3CS and 1.3 CS.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Undertake scheduled preventative maintenance and servicing activities on multi-brand wind turbines to ensure optimal performance, minimise downtime and complete documentation as required.
  • Execute corrective maintenance, fault finding, troubleshooting, and repair on all turbine systems, encompassing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic assemblies, and complete the corresponding documentation diligently.
  • Engage in root cause analysis to pinpoint the underlying cause of equipment failures and effectively implement corrective actions.
  • Proactively carry out repairs or facilitate component replacement to avert complete failure or system downtime, thus ensuring the highest level of turbine availability.
  • Collaborate with fellow team members to elevate turbine efficiency and reliability.
  • Be prepared to provide out-of-hours and weekend response to turbine breakdowns as per the on-call schedule.
  • Adhere meticulously to all health and safety requirements, including the WTSR.
  • Maintain accurate records of timesheets, expenses, and maintenance activities, encompassing work performed, parts utilized, and equipment condition.
  • Maintain regular and effective communication with ControlCentre personnel.
  • Provide assistance in producing and validating Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Ensure that personal protective equipment (PPE), tools, and vehicles are maintained at the highest standards.
  • Contribute to upholding a positive company profile through effective communication and collaboration with all other NPS/NPC departments.
  • Stay informed about the latest technical developments related to the role and site turbine technology and actively pursue personal development through training, mentoring, and staying abreast of developments in the wind power industry.

This is a Permanent Full Time role, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with scheduled On-Call rotation.
