Service Technicians

We are looking for experienced Service Technicians to join our Service UK team. This role will be responsible for supporting preventive and corrective maintenance within UK wind farms projects in Europe.

About The Role

The Service Technician executes maintenance activities, ensuring all work is performed according to technical specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. Working as part of an international team, the Service Technician supports the delivery of critical energy infrastructure projects that contribute to the expansion of renewable energy across Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on wind turbine systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults
  • Carry out repairs and replacements of turbine components
  • Conduct routine inspections and condition monitoring of turbines
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and service manuals
  • Work safely in accordance with HSE procedures and wind industry standards
  • Support installation and commissioning of wind turbines when required
  • Complete detailed service reports and maintenance documentation
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and PPE
  • Collaborate with team members and site supervisors to ensure efficient operations
  • Work at height and in challenging environmental conditions

Skills, Knowledge And Experience

  • Technical knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, acquired through professional experience or relevant academic qualifications. These competencies are essential for the successful performance of the role and will be assessed during the recruitment process.
  • Relevant professional experience in a similar role or within the wind industry.
  • Safety-oriented mindset: Demonstrates a strong commitment to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, ensuring compliance with company procedures and contributing to the prevention of workplace incidents and environmental risks.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and effectively with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving: Ability to analyse technical and operational issues, make timely decisions, and identify effective solutions using the available resources.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within a team, actively contributing to shared objectives, embracing diverse perspectives, and maintaining a cooperative and proactive approach in line with MWS's values.
  • Right to work: Must be legally authorised to live and work in the United Kingdom.
  • Physical requirements: Must be physically fit to work in demanding environments, including adverse weather conditions and flexible working hours. The role requires the daily use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including a harness, helmet, lanyards, and fall arrest equipment (approximately 20 kg). Depending on the wind turbine configuration, and where no lift is available, the role also requires climbing ladders of up to 80 metres multiple times per day.
