Windows Platform Engineer
Location: London, UK
Salary: £80,000 + bonus
The Company
Our client is a global investment firm with a dynamic, demanding trading environment. Their Technology Infrastructure team runs the whole hybrid platform: office and EUC environments, trading and core services in co-location data centres, and public cloud.
The Role
You’ll join the London-based Infrastructure and Platform Engineering team, you’ll work across Windows, virtualisation and related technologies, delivered on-premises, hosted and in the public cloud. The focus is on system integration, support and continuous improvement, with an emphasis on standardisation, repeatability, automation and orchestration.
You’ll cover business projects, and work with senior engineers to develop your skills in solution design, scoping and architecture. This suits someone earlier in their Windows platform engineering career who wants broad exposure to a wide range of technologies in a fast-paced environment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
