Windows Engineer – Data Centre Migration (12 Month FTC)

Remote (UK-based) + occasional travel
£50,000 – £62,000

About the Role

We’re hiring an experienced Windows / VMware Engineer to support a major data centre migration programme. This is a hands-on infrastructure engineering role, working across enterprise Windows and virtualisation environments to ensure systems are successfully migrated, stable, and fully operational. You’ll be working on a high-profile transformation programme, supporting critical infrastructure during build, migration, and cutover phases.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing and supporting Windows Server environments (2012–2022)
  • Administering and maintaining VMware infrastructure (ESXi, vCenter, clusters)
  • Supporting server builds, upgrades, and migrations across physical and virtual environments
  • Participating in data centre migration and cutover activities, including out-of-hours work where required
  • Troubleshooting infrastructure issues in live, enterprise environments
  • Supporting high availability and disaster recovery configurations
  • Working with IBM, internal teams, and third-party suppliers to deliver project outcomes
  • Supporting build, test, and transition phases of the programme

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
