Windows Engineer (DV Cleared)

Stevenage - Onsite 5 days a week

12-Month Contract (Extension Possible)

Fully On-Site

£67.57 - £74.32 per hour (Umbrella)

Our client is seeking two experienced Windows Engineers to join a highly secure Digital Excellence function delivering critical IT services across restricted and classified environments. This is an exciting opportunity for DV-cleared professionals who enjoy working across both infrastructure and workplace technologies within complex Windows environments. You will play a key role in maintaining operational excellence, resolving technical issues, supporting system improvements, and ensuring the continued security and performance of critical services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide BAU support, administration, and configuration management across Windows infrastructure and workplace environments.
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance activities, upgrades, and patching across secure networks.
  • Implement changes to Windows environments while minimizing operational disruption.
  • Act as Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for Windows-related incidents and service requests.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues within agreed SLAs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on recurring incidents and support long-term remediation activities.
  • Maintain technical documentation, asset registers, and knowledge base articles.
  • Monitor infrastructure health, alerts, backups, performance, and security.
  • Support compliance with security policies and best practice.
  • Collaborate with technical managers, service teams, and third-party suppliers.
  • Participate in service reviews, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross-functional projects.

We're looking for a strong Windows generalist with hands-on technical expertise across:

  • Windows Server
  • Windows Operating Systems
  • Desktop Applications
  • Active Directory and Access Management
  • Virtualisation platforms, including VDI
  • Storage solutions
  • Infrastructure and workplace technologies
  • Networking principles and troubleshooting
  • Incident management and problem resolution
  • Documentation and process improvement

Candidates must be comfortable operating across both infrastructure and end-user workplace environments and possess excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Security Requirements

  • Current DV Clearance is essential
  • UK Eyes Only (UKEO) environment

Due to the nature of the work, this role is 100% site-based in Stevenage.
