Aircraft Structural Repair Design Engineer Wing - In-Service Aircraft
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse, review, and technically validate aircraft structural repair solutions developed by engineering teams for daily in-service aircraft repair requirements.
- Apply strong knowledge of aircraft structural design principles, repair methodologies, damage assessment, and structural substantiation to develop robust and compliant repair solutions.
- Ensure all repair solutions comply with applicable Airbus standards, specifications, engineering procedures, and airworthiness requirements.
- Review technical inputs and identify potential issues, gaps, or risks early to ensure right-first-time delivery and timely resolution of repair cases.
- Work closely with Static and Fatigue engineering teams to establish the structural acceptability and substantiation requirements of repair solutions.
- Collaborate with the offshore Design Engineering team to develop, refine, and implement detailed repair solutions, ensuring design outputs meet engineering and delivery requirements.
- Coordinate effectively with offshore engineering teams, Airbus signatories, Customer Support, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve technical queries, and ensure timely delivery of repair solutions.
- Understand, create, review, and technically coordinate TD, AW, and RDTS deliverables within the TRM environment.
- Manage and progress repair cases through ICARUS, ensuring accurate technical information, effective case tracking, timely responses, and closure within agreed targets.
- Provide technical leadership and support for complex, non-standard, and time-critical repair cases, including identification of appropriate engineering solutions and escalation of technical issues where required.
- Support continuous improvement of repair processes, engineering quality, and delivery performance by identifying recurring issues and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Communicate technical requirements and engineering decisions, ensuring consistent understanding and execution.

- Degree or equivalent qualification in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Proven professional experience in in-service aircraft structural repair engineering, preferably within an aircraft OEM, MRO, airline, or aerospace engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of aircraft structural repair principles, damage assessment, repair methodologies, and structural substantiation.
- Good working knowledge of Airbus engineering standards, specifications, repair practices, and technical procedures.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in aircraft wing structures and structural repair design.
- Experience working with Airbus repair engineering processes and technical deliverables, including TD, AW, and RDTS.
- Hands-on experience with ICARUS and TRM or equivalent aircraft repair engineering systems.
- Experience collaborating with Static and Fatigue/Stress engineering teams to establish structural acceptability.
- Experience working with offshore engineering teams and Airbus technical/signatory stakeholders is highly desirable.
- Strong technical problem-solving and engineering judgement, with the ability to analyse complex repair scenarios and determine appropriate technical actions.
- Excellent communication, coordination, stakeholder-management, and technical documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, delivery-driven in-service support environment, managing multiple repair cases and competing priorities.
