Role Summary
The role is responsible for supporting the Front Office, Electronic Trading, and Middle Office business functions by providing analytical, operational, technical, and project support to ensure the effective delivery of business objectives. Acting as a key liaison between traders, clients, third-party vendors, and internal teams, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with Operations, Risk, Compliance, Finance, Technology, and Development to troubleshoot and resolve real-time issues, enhance business processes, and deliver strategic initiatives.
The role requires building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business, coordinating with in-house IT and development teams to investigate and resolve production issues, and contributing to the successful implementation of technology and business change projects. The successful candidate will combine strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities to support the ongoing development, stability, and efficiency of the firm's electronic trading and Front Office platforms.
Responsibilities
- Sound knowledge of rules and regulations of all trading platforms that the Company are members of and execute transactions over.
- Primary contact point for the Trading floor with regards to trading operations and trading functionality queries.
- Act as an intermediary between Trading and Operations where necessary.
- Assist the Trading Services Manager and Head of E-Trading Infrastructure with the development, improvement and/or maintenance of relevant departmental procedures and controls, in line with the Company’s internal Compliance and Risk policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support and maintain the Trading Services Dashboard, using SQL, Python, and data analysis to drive reporting and process improvements.
- First line point of contact for system issues working closely with IT Department and Support Desk.
- To interact with and assist Front Office personnel when questions arise relating to Front Office Controls.
- Be a point of contact for exchange supervision departments, this would involve trade, order entry and price queries.
- Assist with day-to-day processes such as:
- Maintenance of security static data across multiple databases (equity, gilt). This will include, for example, instrument creation, price feed application, trading venue allocations.
- Registration of WINS as a market maker on the relevant exchanges where the Company wishes to display a market price and trade.
- Registration of short selling exemption with the FCA and maintenance and regular review of these records.
- Creation of trading books and allocation of stocks.
- Creation of WINNER (WINS own RSP platform) sizes where required and any subsequent standing data changes.
- Creation of WINNER client trading bands and any subsequent maintenance required.
- Maintain a close working relationship with Compliance, Risk and Operations.
- Raise relevant projects to enhance the systems and procedures already in use. This can include initial paperwork to raise the project through to testing and ultimate delivery.
- Analyse existing processes and identify where controls processes can be developed and enhanced.
- To build and maintain a strong culture of compliance, risk management, integrity, client focus and other such Marex values.
- To perform any other duties as reasonably required.
- 1st line technical support for multiple client-side and market-side trading platforms
- Proactive monitoring of all Electronic Trading connections and workflows
- Perform critical Start-of-day and End-of-day checks and procedures
- Assist Middle Office colleagues in providing real-time technical support to traders and clients
- Proactively identify and diagnose technical issues, taking clear remedial action if necessary
- Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the FCA
- Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.
- Role model for demonstrating highest level standards of integrity and conduct and reflecting Company Values.
- At all times complying with the FCA’s Code of Conduct
- Carrying out regulatory activities under the Marex Financial trading books
- Liaising with brokers/Exchanges in the UK, Europe and North America.
- To ensure that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility
- To report any breaches of policy to Compliance and/ or your supervisor as required
- To escalate risk events immediately
- To provide input to risk management processes, as required.
