Joining our team either as a Trainee (full training will be given) or as an experienced Wireless Network Engineer, you will play a vital role in implementing and maintaining our wireless network, travelling to site locations in the Ryedale and North Yorkshire Coast area.

Basic Responsibilities

  • Prepare network equipment and carry out customer installations, upgrades, and repairs on site
  • Complete desktop and on-site surveys for the maintenance and expansion of our broadband wireless network
  • Learn to troubleshoot system and networking problems, diagnose, and solve hardware and software faults
  • Manage customer phone calls, emails, and instant messaging correspondence
  • Work at height using ladders
  • Provide technical support and recommendations to customers and follow up as needed
  • Complete administrative processes using our internal software systems
  • Assist with Health and Safety tasks, e.g., ladder and vehicle checks

  • Work at height – Rope Access - Climbing Masts
  • Provide recommendations to optimize the network and acquire skills to implement and configure such enhancements
  • Develop knowledge of routing protocols and management and configuration of routers, switches, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers to troubleshoot, identify, and resolve technical issues
  • Driving of cherry pickers and operating boom lifts
  • Assisting with more advanced Health and Safety Tasks – e.g., Risk Assessments and Method statements

Essential experience, qualifications, and personal attributes

  • Customer service and administration, strong customer-facing communication, and written skills
  • Keen interest in learning about physical hardware, networking fundamentals/protocols, and communications technology
  • Computer Literate
  • GCSE Maths and English, Grade 4
  • Team player, reliable
  • Full clean driving license and own transport (Company van provided for business use only)
  • Willingness to work overtime and out of hours

  • Previous experience of CRM systems
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • IT Support role, service desk, help desk
  • Working at Heights - Rope Access
  • Troubleshooting connectivity and performance issues
  • Health and safety management
  • Problem Solving
  • Wireless configuration
  • Good local geographical knowledge
  • Industry-related qualifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+
