Seeking Skilled Wiring & Assembly Technicians (Avionics) to Join a Leading Aerospace Manufacturing Environment in Basingstoke on a Contract Basis

Are you an experienced Wiring & Assembly Technician (2 years+ experience) with strong soldering skills and a passion for precision engineering? You will assemble and test advanced electronic and avionics equipment, working to strict quality standards.

You'll be a hands-on, quality-driven technician who takes pride in their workmanship, can interpret technical drawings, and consistently delivers accurate, reliable results.

Role: Wiring & Assembly Technician (Avionics)

6 month contract

Site: Basingstoke, Hampshire

Shift: Mon-Fri. 37.5 hours per week

Pay: £17.44 per hour PAYE only. Plus holiday pay in addition.

UK nationals only can be accepted, due to project restrictions

Vetting will include a right to work check, drug screen, BPSS, and a DBS check.

Main Responsibilities

  • Soldering fine-pitch electronic components to a high standard.
  • Crimping, terminating, and assembling electrical connectors and wiring harnesses.
  • Following detailed engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Maintaining ongoing accurate production records using IT system.
  • Using electronic manufacturing systems and PC-based tools.
  • Ensuring all work meets stringent quality requirements, with a right-first-time approach.
  • Working efficiently both independently and as part of a wider production team.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in fine-pitch electronic soldering.
  • Proven experience in crimping, terminating, and assembling connectors and wiring harnesses.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and follow detailed work instructions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
  • Good PC Skills, Including Experience Using Electronic Manufacturing Systems.
  • Accurate record-keeping and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, conscientious approach and the ability to work to production deadlines.
