Are you a customer-focused, supportive leader with excellent communication and organisational skills? We are seeking a Witness Care Supervisor to join our Criminal Justice team at Nottinghamshire Police.


🚀 What you'll do

  • Lead and supervise the day-to-day activities of the Witness Care Unit to ensure an effective service is delivered to victims and witnesses.
  • Manage team performance, workload allocation, and attendance, ensuring compliance with the Victims' Code of Practice.
  • Support and prepare witnesses for court proceedings, helping to promote confidence in the Criminal Justice System.
  • Monitor workloads and resources to respond effectively to changing demands.
  • Produce and maintain management information, reports, and performance data.
  • Work closely with Criminal Justice partners to support effective case progression at Magistrates’ and Crown Courts.
  • Provide advice and guidance to police officers, staff, and partner agencies on Witness Care processes.
  • Deputise for the Victim and Witness Manager when required.
  • Support staff development through coaching, appraisal, and career conversations.

💡 What We’re Looking For

  • Experience supervising or leading a team in a busy, customer-focused environment.
  • Strong people management skills, including workload allocation, motivation, and performance management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a sensitive or confidential environment.
  • Ability to manage change, implement new working practices, and identify service improvements.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality service to victims, witnesses, and partners.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
