WMS Technical Support Engineer – Night Shift
Location: South Yorkshire – 100% onsite
Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 10:00pm–6:00am
Additional Hours: Overtime opportunities available
The Opportunity
NXA Talent is supporting an established organisation with the appointment of a WMS Technical Support Engineer to provide dedicated overnight support across a business-critical warehouse management system environment.
This is a hands-on technical position supporting a live, high-volume warehousing operation. The focus will be on maintaining the stability and availability of the WMS and its associated integrations, investigating technical issues and ensuring critical interfaces and background processes continue to operate successfully throughout the night.
We are looking for someone with strong WMS support experience who is comfortable working beyond purely functional or user-level issues. You should be able to investigate problems across the application, integrations and back-end processes, using logs and other technical information to identify and resolve issues.
Experience with Blue Yonder WMS / Discrete would be highly desirable, although candidates with strong technical experience supporting other enterprise WMS platforms will also be considered.

What You'll Be Doing
- Providing overnight technical support for a live WMS environment.
- Monitoring the WMS and integrations with other business and warehouse systems.
- Investigating application, interface and integration failures.
- Troubleshooting issues across both front-end functionality and back-end processes.
- Monitoring interface queues, scheduled processes, system services and data flows.
- Reviewing logs and technical information to diagnose incidents and identify root causes.
- Resolving technical issues directly where possible and escalating more complex problems when required.
- Carrying out proactive system monitoring and health checks throughout the shift.
- Supporting planned releases, maintenance activities and system changes.
- Maintaining clear documentation around incidents, resolutions and recurring issues.
- Working closely with warehouse operations and wider IT teams to minimise disruption.
- Identifying recurring problems and opportunities to improve system stability and support processes.
What We're Looking For
- Strong commercial experience supporting a Warehouse Management System (WMS) within a live operational environment.
- Good understanding of WMS applications from both a functional and technical perspective.
- Experience supporting integrations, interfaces and data flows between WMS and connected systems.
- Ability to investigate back-end processes and diagnose technical application issues.
- Experience reviewing application logs, failed transactions, queues or scheduled processes.
- Good understanding of warehouse and distribution centre operations.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Comfortable taking ownership of incidents within a business-critical environment.
- Able to communicate effectively with both technical and operational stakeholders.
- Comfortable working independently during overnight operations.
- Able to work permanently onsite in South Yorkshire, Sunday to Thursday, 10:00pm–6:00am.

Desirable
- Experience supporting Blue Yonder WMS / Blue Yonder Discrete.
- Previous experience within a large-scale warehouse, logistics, retail or 3PL environment.
- Exposure to complex WMS integrations and automated warehouse environments.
- Experience supporting highly available or business-critical warehouse applications.
