Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Location: On site, Stockport town centre
Starting Salary £26,225 - £28,300
Annual leave: 25 days plus statutory bank holidays
12-month Fixed term contract

Stockport Women's Centre - providing women in Stockport with the safe space, support and skills to thrive
We are here for any woman in Stockport providing support, advice and friendship. Our centre is a women-only safe space in the heart of Stockport providing free casework, counselling, therapeutic activities and drop-ins to any woman over 18.
We support over 700 women a year with issues including domestic abuse, mental ill health, debt, parenting, housing and more.
Role Description
Key aims of the role are:
- To support and work with women from Stockport who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse including safety planning, risk assessment, safeguarding, case management and advocacy.
- To hold and manage a caseload, creating, reviewing and monitoring personalised support plans.
- To deliver group work to women, relating to domestic abuse awareness.
- To provide a weekly drop-in session to women that are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse.
- To work collaboratively with our domestic abuse partnership as well as other agencies as appropriate to the case.
- To support the Head of Service as she develops the quality standards for The Women’s Centre.

Qualifications
Essential:
- Must hold a relevant qualification relating to health & social care or have equivalent work experience.
- Experience of holding a caseload and providing or arranging services appropriate to need.
Role Responsibilities
Client care
- Undertaking assessments, and with support appropriate to level of experience; designing and implementing care/protection plans in complex situations, maintaining notes and completing the appropriate documentation.
- Initiating and signposting the provision of appropriate services and resources.
- To support clients at meetings including occasional court appearances if appropriate
- To deliver a weekly domestic abuse drop-in and facilitate a domestic abuse course.
- Organising and/or assisting with group work as appropriate and agreed by the Head of Service, i.e. Personal development.
- Working with other agencies and organisations including co-working as required.
- To identify and manage risk issues and carry out relevant risk assessments & referrals such as MARAC in order to safeguard women and their children.
- Assess need, plan and deliver focused intervention to safeguard, promote, and protect positive outcomes whilst working to best practice.
Communication
- To keep accurate and up to date records, using appropriate computer systems including evidence of assessments undertaken and visits completed, together with any other work carried out. All reports to be placed within client files.
- To make day-to-day decisions in accordance with the range of duties and within the parameters and supervision of the Services Manager and referring to the Service manager as appropriate.
- To record and maintain client information on databases and appropriate information systems.

Information Management
- To keep an accurate record of number of clients seen, telephone calls taken and the nature of such interactions, contributing to the SWC database.
- To maintain accurate, confidential service-user records of interventions and contact details as per SWC policies and procedures.
- To produce reports and evaluations in consultation with other staff members on all work carried out and as requested, working within set deadlines.
Personal/Professional/Development and Training
- To continually reflect on your own professional performance through participation in regular supervision sessions with line manager as well as ongoing informal consultation to keep supervisor informed of any changes that require management decisions
- To contribute to the development of the team and to new forms of work or service.
- To maintain an up to date knowledge of and awareness of developments in public policy and legislation regarding women in the criminal justice system and related subjects.
