Job Title: Women’s Groupwork Sessional Facilitator
Location:
Based over different sites in Central Northampton and Northamptonshire
Responsible To:
Programmes Manager
Responsible For:
Helping the Wellbeing Team Lead, and Groupwork Team Co-ordinator to assess women’s needs for therapeutic domestic abuse groupwork and delivering programmes to women seeking to recover and move on from the impact of domestic abuse.
Working Arrangements:
The Women’s Groupwork Sessional Facilitator will be required to work from time to time. Some unsocial/out of hours/evening work will be required. You will deliver programmes both face to face and online.
Main Purpose of the Post:
To provide specialist therapeutic groupwork support to women who have been the victims of Domestic Abuse.
Key Responsibilities:
Working with Women who are Service Users
- Assess risks and needs of victims of domestic abuse for specialist therapeutic groupwork using assessment tools and application of appropriate policies and procedures.
- Build supportive, empowering relationships with women who have been victims of domestic violence and abuse.
- Manage service user case load ensuring each person receives the appropriate groupwork programme to meet their needs.
- Support management of waiting list and administration for delivery of groupwork programmes.
- Liaise with other staff and volunteers involved in the delivery of groupwork programmes for Service-Users, to review and monitor engagement in activities and interventions and achievement against the outcomes.
- Provide peripatetic groupwork programme delivery in other locations across Northamptonshire as and when required.
- Undertake preparation, delivery (including online delivery) and evaluation of specialist group work suitable for victims of domestic violence and abuse.
- Participate and engage in Groupwork Facilitator meetings.

- Support Programmes Manager and Wellbeing Team Lead in Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and Risk Assessment and Management; ensuring an excellent level of response to safeguarding and other safety risks and needs.

Administration
- Keep and maintain records both electronic and paper based as appropriate and provide written reports where required.
Miscellaneous
- Engage positively, attend and contribute to delivery of staff/team development days, meetings, supervision and other team events – where possible.
- Cover staff holidays and sickness - where possible.
- Undertake further training opportunities as appropriate.
