About The Role
We are looking for a compassionate, resilient and values-led Women’s Keyworker to provide holistic support to women experiencing multiple and complex needs. This includes women serving community orders and women released from HMP Eastwood Park.
Based primarily at our Pontypridd Women’s Centre, you will provide gender-responsive, trauma-informed practical and emotional support. You will also travel weekly to Bridgend to attend probation and deliver community-based support across the Bridgend area.
Working alongside women, partner agencies and colleagues, you will help identify needs, develop strength-based action plans, reduce social harms and re-offending, and empower women to access opportunities and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Hold a caseload of women accessing the service on community orders or resettling from prison.
- Provide 1:1 practical and emotional support, including outreach and community-based work.
- Work collaboratively with referring organisations, including probation services and HMP Eastwood Park.
- Undertake comprehensive assessments and develop collaborative, strength-based action plans.
- Support women with needs relating to housing, substance misuse, health, finance, previous trauma, children and families, education, training and employment.
- Facilitate group interventions and support women to access appropriate services.
- Attend multi-agency meetings and act as an advocate within agreed protocols.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with local partners, including criminal justice, housing, social care, substance misuse and health services.
- Maintain clear and accurate case records and use monitoring tools to evidence women’s journey of progress.
- Work in line with The Nelson Trust’s ethos, safeguarding procedures, confidentiality requirements and health and safety policies.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
