About the Women's Team:

The SAFC Women’s Football Team benefits from strong collaboration with our Coaching and Analysis teams, ensuring that our strategies and training sessions are informed by the latest insights and best practices.
The Opportunity:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and proactive Women’s PGA Assistant Coach to support the planning, delivery and evaluation of coaching within Sunderland AFC Women’s Professional Game Academy, for 25 hours a week. This is an exciting opportunity to play an important role in developing talented young female players and supporting their progression through the pathway.
You will assist with the delivery of practical coaching sessions, support matchday preparation and management, contribute to player reviews and help create an environment where players are challenged, supported and encouraged to develop technically, tactically, physically and personally.

The successful candidate will bring strong coaching knowledge, excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for player development and the growth of the women’s game. Working collaboratively with coaches, performance staff and wider club colleagues, you will help ensure the Women’s PGA reflects the club’s playing philosophy, values and standards.
What We Ask For:
We ask that you bring experience of coaching within a football environment, ideally within girls’ or women’s football, talent development or an academy setting, along with a UEFA B License. You will need a strong understanding of player development, session planning and the ability to support the delivery of coaching sessions aligned to a clear playing and coaching philosophy.

- Confident building positive relationships with players, parents or carers, coaches and multi-disciplinary staff
- Contributing to individual development plans, player feedback, matchday preparation and post-match review processes
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to complete relevant administration accurately and on time
A positive attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and player welfare are essential. You should be flexible and willing to work evenings and weekends where required, in line with the Women’s PGA training and fixture schedule. Relevant coaching qualifications, a commitment to ongoing CPD and experience using video or analysis tools to support player development would be advantageous.
You will be required to obtain an Enhanced DBS through SAFCW.
