The Role

The Stadium Announcer will play a key role in delivering a professional, engaging, and welcoming matchday experience for supporters attending Wrexham AFC Women fixtures at The Rock Stadium. The role is responsible for delivering clear and energetic stadium announcements before, during, and after matches while helping create a positive atmosphere that reflects the identity and ambition of the club.

The post holder will support matchday operations through effective communication, supporter engagement, and the delivery of important operational and health & safety announcements.

Main Responsibilities:

Matchday Announcements

  • Deliver stadium announcements before, during, and after Women’s First Team fixtures.
  • Introduce teams, match officials, special guests, and key matchday information.
  • Announce goal scorers, substitutions, added time, and other match updates.
  • Deliver sponsor, commercial, and club promotional messages where required.

Atmosphere & Supporter Experience

  • Help create an engaging and family-friendly atmosphere at The Rock.
  • Use energy, personality, and professionalism to enhance the supporter experience.
  • Support pre-match build-up and fan engagement activities.

Welsh Language & Club Identity

  • Deliver announcements in both Welsh and English where appropriate.
  • Support the club’s commitment to Welsh culture, identity, and inclusivity.
  • Represent the values and professionalism of Wrexham AFC Women.

Operational & Safety Communication

  • Deliver clear health & safety announcements in line with matchday requirements.
  • Support operational communication relating to supporter information and stadium procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with matchday operations staff to ensure announcements are timely and accurate.

Professional Standards

  • Maintain a professional presentation and communication style.
  • Arrive prepared and on time for all matchday duties.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and reliability within a live event environment.

Experience and Qualifications required:

Essential

  • Confident and engaging public speaking skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in both Welsh and English.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a live matchday environment under pressure.
  • Passion for football and supporter engagement.
  • Reliable, professional, and well-organised.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in stadium announcing, presenting, broadcasting, or live events.
  • Understanding of football matchday operations.
  • Knowledge of Wrexham AFC Women and the Women’s football landscape.
