LuxExperience Private Label develops and delivers exclusive own-brand collections across the group's portfolio of luxury destinations, including Mr Porter, NET-A-PORTER and Mytheresa. As a Designer within LuxExperience Private Label, you are responsible for creating exclusive own-brand collections for one of the group's leading luxury destinations, Mytheresa. Immersed in the unique identity and customer of the brand, you will translate its creative vision into distinctive collections that reflect its aesthetic, market position and point of view.

Role Overview

Working in close partnership with the Chief Buying Officer & Product Development team, you will be responsible for Managing the design team across categories alongside designing the knitwear collection working to a brief laid out by Chief Buying Officer. As part of LuxExperience, the leading digital multi-brand luxury group, you play a key role in shaping exclusive products that strengthen the brand's identity, deepen customer engagement and deliver exceptional luxury experiences.

Job Description

To lead our Design Team we are searching for a Design Manager for a new womenswear brand - MYT Private Label to be based in our London office.

  • Collaborate closely with the Chief Buying Officer/ Creative Director of My Theresa for support to ensure the best understanding and development of seasonal creative concepts.
  • Lead the Design team with full accountability for output quality and delivery, overseeing the complete process from concept to production.
  • Collaborate with Merchandising, Buying, Product Development, and Technical teams to generate key product direction, ensure tasks are executed, and launch seasons in line with the critical path.
  • Refine existing and develop new blocks in collaboration with the Technical team, ensuring consistency of fit and maintaining customer expectations to help reduce return rates.
  • Be a strategic business manager, overseeing processes, demonstrating best practice, defining a clear vision of the future, and building a strong team with a focus on succession planning.
  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of market trends, contribute to the group-wide Sustainability Strategy through sourcing, and manage product-focused aspects of key events.
  • Contribute to presenting ranges to wider team and Senior Managers.

Qualifications

  • BA or equivalent in Womenswear fashion design with a focus on knitwear.
  • Strong eye for product, fabric, colour, fit and trend in the entry luxury/Luxury womenswear market, with a passion for translating this into unique and commercial product ranges in line with My Theresa brand values.
  • In-depth knowledge of sustainable practices, fibres and fabric, reaching beyond the everyday, regular sustainable certificates, alongside an understanding of finishing and fabric idea development.
  • Experience in knitwear for RTW, plus an understanding of other womenswear categories including suede, leather and outerwear.
  • Proficiency in design software including Photoshop, Illustrator and CAD software.
  • Demonstrable experience in People Management with the ability to gain trust, lead groups through effective ideation, and facilitate change.
