Description

Impact Recruitment are working with a client to recruit an experienced Wood Machinist to join their team on a permanent basis. You'll be joining a well-established business that manufactures bespoke kitchen furniture and cabinetry.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Wood Machinist to join a growing business where quality craftsmanship, precision machining, and attention to detail are at the heart of everything they produce.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm

Location: Northampton, Lodge Farm Industrial Estate

Salary: £14.00-£16.00 per hour depending on experience

Responsibilities

  • Operate beam saws, edge banders, and other relevant woodworking machinery.
  • Machine wood and sheet material components accurately to technical drawings and specifications.
  • Carry out cutting, edging, sizing, shaping, and other manufacturing tasks.
  • Prepare and process a range of wood and sheet materials for production.
  • Quality check components throughout the machining process.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, finish, and attention to detail.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures and safe machine operating practices.
  • Support other areas of the workshop and production operation when required.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working area.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Wood Machinist, CNC Machinist, or Workshop Machinist within a woodworking, joinery, or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience operating beam saws, edge banders, or similar woodworking machinery.
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret technical and engineering drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail with a quality-focused approach to work.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider team.
  • Good practical skills and a strong understanding of wood manufacturing processes.
  • Reliable, consistent, and proactive approach to work.
  • Willingness to support different areas of the workshop when required.
