About The Role
The Nigel Wright Group is seeking a proactive and skilled Digital Web Developer to join its marketing team. This is a hands-on position focused on the development, optimisation, and ongoing enhancement of the company's public-facing websites. The successful candidate will work closely with marketing stakeholders to implement improvements, develop new functionalities, and ensure the websites align with broader strategic objectives. The role demands a delivery-oriented mindset, with ownership of development tasks from initial concept through to deployment. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining WordPress-based websites

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and a passion for web development, with qualifications including:
- Proven experience with WordPress, PHP, and front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- A solid understanding of SEO principles and how they influence web development and design
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including version control systems like Git and CI/CD pipelines

- Developing and maintaining WordPress websites, ensuring they are performant, scalable, and optimised for SEO
- Supporting the delivery and implementation of SEO strategies aimed at increasing web traffic and enhancing client conversion rates
- Building responsive, user-friendly web pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Collaborating with marketing stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective web solutions
- Proactively identifying areas for website improvement and recommending innovative enhancements
- Ensuring websites are optimised for speed, usability, and mobile responsiveness
- Participating in ongoing innovation initiatives and continuous improvement projects
- Working closely with internal IT teams when necessary to support infrastructure and deployment processes
