We’re looking for a mid-level Full Stack Developer
We’re looking for a mid-level Full Stack Developer with strong experience in PHP, WordPress, React, and Gutenberg block development to join our remote development team. You’ll be working on established, high-traffic digital platforms, contributing across the full stack — from backend WordPress architecture to modern React-powered front-end experiences.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, writing clean code, and building performant user experiences in a collaborative environment.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll be embedded in a four-person development team, contributing across the full stack of our WordPress-based platforms. Expect a mix of feature development, performance optimisation, technical improvements, and infrastructure work — always with a focus on quality and real business impact.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain PHP-based WordPress platforms
- Build and extend custom Gutenberg blocks for editorial and UI experiences
- Develop React-based front-end features and interactive components
- Collaborate on database design, query optimisation, and caching strategies
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving engineering standards
- Work closely with product, editorial, and SEO teams to deliver high-quality features
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and developer tooling
- Help improve performance, scalability, and maintainability across our platforms
Requirements
- Strong understanding of OOP principles and clean code practices
- Experience building custom WordPress themes and plugins
- Strong experience developing custom Gutenberg blocks
- Ability to write maintainable, scalable backend code
- Solid knowledge of the WordPress ecosystem, including hooks & filters, WP REST API, custom post types & taxonomies, Performance optimisation
- Experience building production-ready React applications using functional components, hooks, state management
- Ability to create responsive and reusable UI components
- Experience with MySQL / MariaDB. Good understanding of query optimisation, database performance, caching layers such as Redis and WordPress transients
- Comfortable with Git workflows, deployment pipelines, Docker, Composer, and NPM

Nice to have
- Experience working on high-traffic, multi-locale WordPress platforms
- Familiarity with REST API design and third-party integrations
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS or similar)
- Experience with SEO-driven content platforms or affiliate publishing
- Understanding of performance optimisation and Core Web Vitals
- Exposure to AI coding assistants such as Claude Code
