Role: WordPress Developer

Engagement Type: Retainer or Freelance

Overview

We are seeking an experienced WordPress developer to rebuild and manage two corporate websites. This is a retainer/freelance engagement, and may evolve to ongoing maintenance and iteration post-launch depending on the engagement experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and launch two corporate/professional websites on WordPress
  • Ensure responsive, secure, and performance-optimised builds
  • Manage hosting, plugins, updates, and backups post-launch for a short transition period, with possibility of a maintenance retainer contract
  • Implement SEO best practices and analytics integration
  • Provide ongoing support, minor content updates, and troubleshooting under retainer terms

Requirements

  • 3–5 years' hands-on WordPress development experience
  • Demonstrable portfolio of corporate/professional websites (not personal blogs or small hobby sites)
  • Strong PHP, HTML/CSS, JavaScript fundamentals
  • Experience with page builders (Elementor/WPBakery) and custom theme/plugin development
  • Familiarity with website security hardening and GDPR-compliant data handling
  • UK or Europe-based, able to work in UK business hours overlap
