Role Description

This is a volunteer Unpaid Work Experience role based at Addison & Khan Solicitors in Enfield and Ilford. The role involves supporting solicitors and legal staff with day-to-day tasks such as organising case files, preparing basic documents, and assisting with legal research under supervision.   • Updating case management systems
  • Helping to maintain accurate client records
  • Observing client meetings
  • Attending hearings where appropriate
  • Gaining insight into different practice areas

The position is designed to provide practical experience in a professional legal environment and to help develop foundational skills for a future career in law.

Qualifications

  • Foundational knowledge or strong interest in Law, with a willingness to learn about legal processes and procedures.
  • Interest or developing knowledge in Family Law, with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Interest or developing knowledge in Conveyancing and Commercial Real Estate, including basic understanding of property-related documentation.
  • Interest or developing knowledge in Employment Law, including awareness of workplace rights and responsibilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, good attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Comfort with basic IT tools (e.g., word processing, email, online research) and willingness to learn case management systems.
  • Current or prospective study in Law or a related field is beneficial but not essential; prior legal experience is welcomed but not required.
