The Programme

“Does a Work Experience opportunity at British Airways sound like something you would enjoy?”

The British Airways Work Experience programme offers students from the age of 13 a way to gain experience in a variety of departments across the business.

These one-day events are like a ‘backstage’ pass into our world, with the aim of inspiring the next generation of future talent into aviation – that’s you, of course!

You will participate in activities, learn about various business areas including:

  • Engineering
  • Flight Operations
  • Introduction to BA

Plus, hear from and have the chance to put your questions to the people who help make British Airways fly!

These exciting ‘once in a term-time’ opportunities will not only increase your knowledge and understanding of ‘What’ we do and ‘How’ we do it, but will also serve to either deepen the desire to pursue a lifelong career with us – in the skies, or on the ground – or make British Airways a visible and viable option for those who would have not even considered us as a potential employer – and why wouldn’t you??

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Your journey continues…

Our Inspire Student Ambassador programme invites students who have completed work experience at British Airways to apply for the ambassador role and further develop their confidence, work readiness and employability skills.

After completing a summer training course, our ambassadors represent us at school activities and British Airways events. The transferable skills and knowledge developed from this programme gives students their second step into an aviation career.

With many of our former work experience students going on to progress to the ambassador programme and then full-time employment with us, it’s the natural next step in your dream aviation career journey!
