Role Overview
We are excited to recruit to Work & Health Coaches to provide personalised coaching and support to people who have signed up to WorkWell (‘WorkWell programme participants’).
WorkWell is a health‑led early intervention programme delivered in partnership with the NHS, employers, and community organisations. The service supports people with long term health conditions or disabilities to stay in work or return to employment, providing personalised coaching, practical adjustments, and wellbeing support. This role is central to ensuring the programme delivers consistent, evidence‑based interventions that help residents thrive at work despite health challenges.
Job Details
- Salary: £32,597 to £35,412 per annum
- Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract until 01 November 2028. Final start and end dates will be agreed with the successful candidate.
- Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week)
- Location: Power Place, 2 Terminus Rd, Chichester PO19 8UE with regular countywide travel.
- Interview Date: Wednesday 09 September and Thursday 10 September 2026

This role requires the successful candidate to travel throughout West Sussex to meet and work with participants face-to-face at appropriate locations in the community: libraries, community centres, health settings, and job centres, working flexibly to meet the needs of the programme. Regular attendance at your base location will also be necessary, and there will be opportunities for remote work. Final arrangements will be confirmed with the successful candidate.
You will need to be able to travel independently around the county, including to areas that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Pool cars and pool bikes available.
This is essential for working closely with participants offering them the vital in person support they deserve.
Working arrangements will be discussed as part of the recruitment process; however, candidates must be able and willing to meet the hybrid working requirements of the role.

- You’ll work closely with colleagues across health, community, and employment services to make sure each participant gets the right support at the right time.
- You’ll also bring people together through MDT discussions, helping to coordinate support and ensure everyone is working towards the same goals for each participant.
You will manage your own caseload, using strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to achieving programme targets and service level agreements. Working in a person centred way, you will motivate, guide, and empower people to build confidence, develop new strategies, and achieve sustainable outcomes.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Coaching or Motivational Interviewing qualification, or relevant experience supporting individuals to achieve positive behavioural change.
- Level 2 English and Maths qualification (GCSE Grade 4/C or above).
- Experience providing one-to‑one coaching, advice, guidance, or support.
- Proven ability to manage a caseload and work effectively towards performance targets.
- Experience within health, employment, community, or voluntary sector support services.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively.
- Ability to handle and maintain sensitive and confidential information, including health-related data, in line with GDPR and data protection requirements.
- Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and other relevant digital systems.
