Role: Workday Finance Consultant
Location: Hybrid working with offices in Swindon, Stockton and Newport

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Workday Finance Consultant to join a major public-sector organization undergoing significant digital and ERP transformation.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the implementation, optimization and support of Workday Financial Management within a complex and evolving shared services environment. Working alongside business stakeholders, Programme teams and technical specialists, you will help shape and deliver innovative finance solutions that support critical public services.
The successful candidate will act as a trusted subject matter expert, providing functional expertise across Workday Financials while driving process improvements, supporting business change initiatives and ensuring the successful delivery of finance-related system enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a Workday Financials SME across areas including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Expenses, Assets, Projects and Reporting.
- Support, configure and optimise Workday Financial Management solutions.
- Resolve incidents and service requests across Finance and Procurement modules, ensuring timely resolution in line with service targets.
- Investigate and troubleshoot complex issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term solutions.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document requirements, translating them into functional designs and system configurations.
- Lead and contribute to workshops, process reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support testing activities including system, integration and user acceptance testing.
- Maintain accurate documentation, knowledge articles and support materials.
- Work closely with programme teams, third-party suppliers and technical specialists to deliver successful outcomes.
- Support transition into operational service and provide ongoing system support and knowledge transfer.

Essential Experience:
- Proven experience working with Workday Financial Management in a configuration, implementation or support capacity.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end finance processes within a complex organisation.
- Experience gathering, analysing and documenting business requirements.
- Ability to produce high-quality functional specifications and process documentation.
- Experience working within multi-disciplinary delivery teams and engaging with senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting testing activities within ERP or SaaS environments.
- Familiarity with Agile, hybrid delivery methodologies and ITSM tools.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Workday HCM Lead to join a large-scale organization undergoing significant digital and business transformation.
This is a senior leadership role within a high-performing Product and Platform function, offering the chance to influence the strategic direction of Workday Human Capital Management across a complex, enterprise-scale environment. You'll combine hands-on configuration expertise with technical leadership, stakeholder engagement and team development, ensuring the ongoing optimisation and support of critical HR systems.
Working within a collaborative multi-disciplinary team, you will act as the subject matter expert for Workday HCM, driving best practice, service excellence and continuous improvement while supporting a broad portfolio of HR and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and functional leadership across Workday HCM, including:
- Core HCM
- Organisations, Staffing Models and Job Architecture
- Business Process Framework
- Compensation, Absence, Talent and Performance
- Lead complex requirements gathering and design workshops with business stakeholders.
- Translate business needs into scalable and effective Workday solutions.
- Oversee and assure Workday configuration, enhancements and change delivery.
- Provide technical governance, peer reviews and design assurance across projects and BAU activities.
- Manage and prioritise support workloads, ensuring service levels and performance targets are achieved.
- Act as an escalation point for complex incidents, defects and operational issues.
- Support release management, testing activities and regulatory updates.
- Drive process optimisation and standardisation across HR operations.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, suppliers and delivery partners.
- Mentor, coach and support colleagues, helping develop capability across the wider Workday team.

Essential Experience:
- Significant experience in a senior Workday HCM configuration, implementation or support role.
- Deep understanding of end-to-end HR processes within large, complex organisations.
- Experience providing technical leadership, governance and assurance within ERP or SaaS environments.
- Strong background in translating business requirements into functional designs and system solutions.
- Experience mentoring, coaching or leading analysts, consultants or delivery teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working within Agile, SAFe or hybrid delivery environments.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience within public sector, shared services or highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of Workday Payroll and payroll integrations.
- Exposure to Workday reporting, analytics and integrations.
- Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Fusion or other enterprise ERP platforms.
- Relevant Workday certifications.
