Technical Delivery Manager – Workday and People Systems
Flexible hybrid working with ad-hoc days onsite in Cambridge
Our client, a prestigious and very well regarded employer, is looking for a Technical Delivery Manager to lead delivery and service management across their Workday and People Systems landscape — including Workday HCM, Benefits, Advanced Compensation, Peak One, Learning, and VNDLY, alongside PageUp for recruitment.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can combine deep Workday subject matter expertise with strong delivery and service management discipline, managing a team of around 6 while ensuring HR platforms stay performant, secure, and aligned with business needs.
What you'll do
- Lead delivery of People Systems solutions using Scrum, from story refinement through to live service
- Act as technical SME for the HR Solutions Delivery team, coaching on best-practice configuration and implementation
- Own 2nd/3rd line support and incident management, consistently hitting SLA targets
- Manage the People Systems delivery roadmap and release cycle, ensuring changes meet architectural and testing standards
- Own access, security and data governance for supported HR platforms, ensuring audit readiness
- Manage third-party suppliers and vendors to extend delivery capacity where needed
- Build strong working relationships across IT, infrastructure, and the People and Culture team
- Develop your team's skills and career paths, and champion continuous improvement in the People Systems support model

What you'll bring
- 5+ years' experience in technical and functional configuration of Workday
- Strong knowledge of Workday access/security governance, data governance and audit readiness
- Experience delivering support at scale, with solid data foundations and permissions/security management
- Proven agile/Scrum delivery experience
- Strong IT service management background, including incident and change management
- Confidence engaging and building enthusiasm with non-technical stakeholders at all levels
- A proactive, continuous-improvement mindset and a genuine passion for developing people

Certifications
- Workday certification: HCM plus at least one other module
- ITIL certification
- Scrum Master / Agile certification
