We are seeking an experienced Workday Finance Solution Architect / Data Specialist to play a key role in the transformation of our finance technology landscape. This role will be responsible for shaping and governing solution architecture across the Workday platform, ensuring that design decisions align with business objectives, enterprise architecture standards, and long-term strategic goals.
The successful candidate will join a cross-functional transformation team focused on delivering finance improvements within Workday, encompassing Workday Financial Management, Prism Analytics, Accounting Center, Reporting, and Integrations. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will challenge and influence both internal stakeholders and implementation partners to ensure the right architectural outcomes are achieved.
This is a highly visible position requiring a combination of strong Workday expertise, data analytics knowledge, architectural governance, stakeholder management, and technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate within a cross-functional team delivering finance transformation initiatives across the Workday platform.
- Define, govern, and evolve solution architecture aligned with enterprise architecture principles, standards, and roadmaps.
- Provide architectural leadership across Workday Financial Management, Prism Analytics, Accounting Center, Reporting, and Integrations.
- Challenge and influence Workday, Systems Integrators, and key stakeholders to ensure optimal solution design decisions.
- Maintain a holistic view of the Workday ecosystem, identifying architectural gaps, risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Oversee technical architecture implementation and ensure solutions adhere to architectural standards and best practices.
- Work closely with engineering and development teams to establish delivery standards, technical processes, and quality outcomes.
- Produce and maintain architecture artefacts including solution blueprints, integration patterns, relationship diagrams, and technical designs.
- Ensure solutions meet business requirements through close collaboration with finance, technology, and transformation stakeholders.
- Drive the re-use of common components, integration patterns, and architectural assets wherever possible.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to development teams and Systems Integration partners.
- Support decision-making across the full software development lifecycle, from design through deployment and ongoing optimisation.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience designing and delivering solutions across the Workday platform, including:
- Workday Financial Management
- Workday Prism Analytics
- Workday Accounting Center
- Workday Reporting
- Workday Integrations
- Strong understanding of Workday security architecture, controls, and best practices.
- Experience in London Markets.
- Proven experience delivering at least one end-to-end Workday implementation across one or more of the above functional areas.
- Experience designing data and analytics solutions using Workday Prism Analytics.
- Ability to influence solution design and challenge implementation partners to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Experience working across the full software development lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of solution architecture principles, design patterns, and integration best practices.
- Ability to create effective and concise architecture documentation that supports delivery teams and business stakeholders.

Desirable Technical Experience
- Experience building cloud-native integration solutions using Microsoft Azure, including:
- Azure App Services
- Azure Functions
- Azure SQL
- Azure Service Bus
- Azure Key Vault
- Experience integrating legacy finance systems with the Workday platform.
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices using Azure DevOps or similar tooling.
- Exposure to enterprise integration frameworks and modern API-led architectures.
- Understanding of data modelling, reporting, and finance analytics environments.
Qualifications & Professional Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Workday certifications or accreditations (e.g., Workday Pro) are highly desirable.
- Experience working across diverse technology environments and enterprise-scale transformation programmes.
- Strong knowledge of business process improvement and process re-engineering methodologies.
