About the Role
Workday Financial Reporting and Accounting Lead
As a Workday Financial Reporting and Accounting Lead, you’ll work with a team to implement and configure enterprise-scale Workday solutions for our global customer base, typically leading a project workstream.
You will:
- Build relationships with customers, shaping and delivering solutions aligned to customer needs, fit-for-purpose, and commercially viable.
- Provide expert guidance to customers by understanding their business requirements.
- Support more junior team members and share your knowledge with them.
- Drive customer transformation through the revision and creation of Workday reports and analytical tools.
- Transform customers' Workday data into actionable information that drives business decisions.
You will have experience in the following key areas:
- Advanced, Matrix and Composite Reporting
- Dashboards
- Discovery Boards
- Slides and Worksheets
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and configure Workday solutions for global customers.
- Lead project workstreams ensuring customer alignment and business fit.
- Customise Workday reports, Dashboards, and analytical tools.
- Perform customer consultation, requirements gathering, and solution recommendations.
- Mentor and develop junior team members.
- Ensure reporting solutions meet best practices and customer needs.
- Collaborate with customers across multiple projects.

The Requirements
Essential Criteria
- Financial Accounting certification
- Workday Advanced Reporting certification
- Experience with Workday Advanced, Matrix, and Composite Reporting
- Strong understanding of Workday products (HCM/Payroll/Financials) (Financials experience is preferred.)
- Proven customer orientation, with experience in:
- A customer-interacting, advisory environment.
- Understanding customer needs.
- Building business relationships.
- Knowledge of when to escalate issues.
- Clear and effective communication skills:
- Ability to talk with credibility and empathy in both remote and in-person environments.
- Strong commercial awareness and business dynamics knowledge.
- Self-sufficient team collaboration and individual contribution:
- Work independently with no direct supervision.
- Plan workload and meet deadlines.
- Consulting skills, including:
- Presenting to and engaging stakeholders.
- Facilitating workshops.
- Explaining functionality and solutions.
- Ability to apply and maintain standards/procedures ensuring:
- High-quality, accurate, and detailed output.
- Awareness of and commitment to:
- Confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements.
- Information security.
- Understanding of:
- The Kainos story and broader business offering.
- How to support company strategy.
- Willingness to:
- Suggest process/technology improvements for better effectiveness.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements.
- Flexibility to rotate across Workday delivery services:
- Consulting, Application Management Services.
- Application Management Services capability:
- Deliver tasks meeting Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Willingness to:
- Travel to customer sites in the same region (minimal out-of-region travel may be required).
