About the Role
The Workday Financials AMS Consultant is an experienced professional in Workday post-production support, delivering dynamic and fast-paced expertise within the Application Managed Services (AMS) consulting practice. In this role, the consultant brings deep functional expertise, a strong focus on business context, and a proactive work ethic to a team characterised by a positive, collaborative culture and a passion for helping clients succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide post-production application-managed support for Workday Financials across multiple client environments.
- Enable clients to maximise their investment in Workday by:
- Optimising Financials operations;
- Enhancing system functionality;
- Supporting new configurations to meet evolving business needs.
- Execute day-to-day AMS activities, including:
- Incident resolution;
- Minor enhancements;
- Configuration changes;
- Functional troubleshooting.
- Support a variety of client contract models, including:
- Staff augmentation;
- Ad-hoc support;
- Project-based delivery.
- Track issues, risks, and service requests while:
- Communicating status clearly;
- Escalating concerns to project or service management as appropriate.
- Provide subject-matter expertise on Workday Financials best practices, covering:
- Configuration;
- Security;
- Business processes;
- Reporting.
- Evaluate and coordinate the functional and downstream impacts of Financials configuration decisions.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and educate clients on effectively operating and managing Workday Financials in a SaaS environment.
- Develop deep expertise in Workday core Financials functionality, while expanding familiarity with related modules:
- Expenses;
- Procurement;
- Projects;
- Asset Management;
- Accounting Center.
- Stay informed about Workday’s product roadmap.
- Collaborate closely with key business and IT stakeholders to:
- Gather requirements;
- Discuss design options;
- Configure, test, and deploy Financials solutions.
- Mentor junior consultants and actively share knowledge to grow the AMS practice.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 2–5 years of Workday Financials experience.
- Workday Financials certification highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience in a functional or techno-functional role supporting Workday Financials post go-live.
- Strong understanding of:
- Workday Financials modules (e.g., GL, AP, AR, Expenses, Procurement);
- Business processes.
- Experience working in an AMS or post-production support model preferred.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to:
- Manage client expectations effectively.
- Strong attention to detail, organisation skills, and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple clients and operate in a dynamic, growing ecosystem with minimal supervision.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Eligibility for Security Clearance (requires UK residency for the last five years and legal right to work in the UK). #LI-Remote position available.
