Workday Financials Technical Lead
12-Month FTC
South East England
Hybrid – 3 days onsite
We’re looking for an experienced Workday Financials Technical Lead to take ownership of the technical delivery of a major ERP transformation. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role, sitting across architecture, integrations, data, governance, and programme delivery.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead the technical delivery of a Workday Financials implementation from design through to go-live and hypercare.
- Own the technical roadmap, architecture, environments, and delivery approach.
- Oversee integrations, data migration, reporting, security, and technical design.
- Provide technical leadership across the wider Workday landscape.
- Work closely with the implementation partner, challenging solutions and ensuring high-quality delivery.
- Lead technical readiness across SIT, UAT, cutover, and deployment.
- Manage technical risks, dependencies, and issues, providing clear updates to senior stakeholders.
- Ensure the resulting platform is scalable, well integrated, and aligned with wider technology strategy.

What we’re looking for

- Proven experience leading Workday Financials implementations in a complex enterprise environment.
- Strong programme delivery and technical governance experience.
- Excellent understanding of ERP architecture, integrations, and data migration.
- Experience working with System Integrators and managing third-party delivery.
- Strong understanding of data flows, APIs, middleware, and modern SaaS architecture.
- Experience across Finance processes and the wider Workday ecosystem.
- Confident engaging with and challenging senior technical and business stakeholders.
- A pragmatic, delivery-focused approach with the technical credibility to move between high-level architecture and detailed delivery.
