Role Overview

We're looking for a Workday Functional Design Lead to shape and guide the design of Workday solutions for our clients. You'll act as the bridge between business requirements and system configuration, leading functional design workshops, translating complex HR and finance processes into robust Workday designs, and guiding delivery teams through the full implementation lifecycle.

This is a client-facing leadership role for someone who combines Workday knowledge with consulting skills, and who wants to influence how organisations transform the way they work.

What you'll do:

• Lead functional design across Workday implementations and transformation programmes, from discovery through to deployment and hypercare
• Run design workshops with client stakeholders, capturing requirements and translating them into clear, scalable solution designs
• Own key design artefacts, including design decisions, process maps, configuration workbooks and functional specifications
• Advise clients on Workday leading practice, balancing standard functionality against bespoke requirements
• Guide and mentor functional consultants and analysts, providing quality assurance on design and configuration
• Work closely with technical, integration, data migration, testing and change teams to ensure a joined-up solution
• Support test strategy and UAT, resolving design queries and defects
• Manage design risks and dependencies, and escalate issues with clear recommendations
• Contribute to proposals, solution shaping and business development activity where required
