Job Description: Workday Integration Architect (Finance)

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Workday Finance integrations.
  • Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of Workday integrations.
  • Create detailed integration specifications, field mappings, technical designs, and documentation to support the full integration lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, identify business needs, and assess the impact of integration projects.
  • Investigate integration failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions to improve integration performance and reliability.
  • Understand and manage data flows between Workday and internal/external systems, ensuring seamless integration and data integrity.
  • Develop and enhance Workday integrations using technologies such as Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Web Services, Calculated Fields, Custom Reports, Document Transformation, XML, XSLT, SOAP, Java, and PGP/SSH key management.
  • Provide production support for Workday integrations, troubleshooting technical issues and resolving user inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to gather, document, and validate business and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with technical teams throughout the design, testing, deployment, and support phases of integration projects.
  • Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, and walkthroughs, ensuring solutions adhere to established standards and best practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by recommending enhancements to integration processes, architecture, and overall Workday strategy.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Workday Studio.
  • 5+ years of experience with integration technologies including Web Services, XML, XSLT, SOAP, and Java.
  • Proven experience building and supporting integrations for Workday Financials (mandatory).
  • Strong understanding of Workday integration tools, including EIB, Core Connectors, Calculated Fields, Custom Reports, and Workday Studio.
  • Experience creating functional and technical requirements documentation and providing design recommendations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with business users and technical teams.
  • Passion for knowledge sharing, mentoring, and continuous learning.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to changing business requirements.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional and distributed teams.
