The Planet Group have been engaged by an established Consulting firm to secure a Workday Platform Architect on an initial 6 month contract. (USD Rates) The ideal candidate will be based in the UK / Ireland working in a UK timezone.
About the role:
We are seeking a senior-level, techno-functional Workday Platform Architect to provide strategic solution design guidance and platform leadership for a System Integrator. Positioned at the intersection of business requirements and Workday technical architecture, you will guide an end-client team of 8 professionals.
This critical engagement begins immediately to address leadership needs following an upcoming executive retirement. In the short term, you will serve as a trusted advisor and key point of contact, interacting directly with the end client's CIO to establish and execute the long-term platform strategy.

- Architectural Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive, integrated Workday platform roadmap that aligns functional business needs with technical best practices.
- Team Guidance: Provide technical and functional solution design direction to an 8-person client delivery team.
- Year-End Planning: Lead key functional workstreams, including end-of-year compensation planning and cross-module alignment.
- Executive Advisory: Partner with senior leadership and the CIO to bridge short-term leadership gaps and ensure seamless continuity during key transitional phases.
Skills & Competencies:
- Senior Expertise: Extensive, proven track record operating as a techno-functional Workday Architect with deep expertise across Workday core architecture and functional business processes.
- Compensation Experience: Advanced Compensation module expertise is strongly preferred.
- Executive Presence: Outstanding communication and leadership skills with experience managing stakeholders up to the CIO level.
- Location & Availability: Must be aligned with Ireland/UK business hours (UK-based candidates strongly preferred).
