About the job you’re considering
We are looking for an experienced Workday Engagement Manager to join our growing Workday Practice and lead the successful delivery of Workday engagements for our clients. This is a client-facing delivery leadership role for someone who combines strong project and programme management capability with commercial awareness, stakeholder leadership and a practical understanding of Workday delivery.
You will take accountability for the delivery of Workday engagements, working with client sponsors, delivery leaders, functional and technical teams, commercial stakeholders, and account teams to deliver high-quality outcomes. You will also contribute to the continued growth of our Workday capability by supporting pre-sales activity, strengthening delivery governance, developing reusable delivery assets, and sharing knowledge across the practice.
Your Role
As a Workday Engagement Manager, you will act as the primary delivery lead for Workday implementation, enhancement and optimisation engagements. You will manage the end-to-end delivery lifecycle, create the conditions for effective project execution, and ensure that scope, timeline, budget, quality, risk, commercial performance and client satisfaction are actively managed throughout the engagement.
You will be expected to bring a modern consulting mindset: outcome-focused, commercially aware, structured in delivery, confident with senior stakeholders and comfortable helping clients adopt Workday capabilities, data-led decision-making, automation and emerging AI-enabled functionality responsibly and effectively.
Engagement delivery and governance
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of Workday implementation, enhancement and optimisation projects, ensuring engagements are delivered to agreed scope, quality, timeline and budget expectations.
- Own and maintain robust project governance, including plans, RAID management, status reporting, decision tracking, change control, dependency management and delivery assurance inputs.
Client leadership and stakeholder management
- Act as a trusted delivery partner and primary point of contact for client stakeholders throughout the engagement lifecycle.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with client sponsors, programme leaders, HR, Finance, IT and operational stakeholders.
Commercial, risk and quality management
- Manage engagement commercials, including forecast, budget, profitability, resource demand, scope control and change management within agreed governance.
- Ensure delivery quality through effective governance, review points, risk management, assurance activity and adherence to Workday and Capgemini delivery methods.
Team leadership and practice contribution
- Lead, motivate and coordinate diverse delivery teams across onshore, nearshore and offshore locations.
- Create clarity for teams by setting expectations, managing workload, removing blockers and promoting collaborative ways of working.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
