Workday Project Manager – Contract
Contract: 6 months initially, with possible extension
Location: London, UK
On-site: Ideally 2 days per week in London
Day Rate: Open to conversation
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Workday Project Manager to lead a major Workday HCM implementation programme on an initial 6-month contract, with the potential for extension. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering multiple end-to-end Workday HCM implementations, with strong experience across the Workday platform and demonstrable experience delivering Workday Time & Absence on at least two occasions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery as a Project Manager for the Workday HCM implementation programme (Time & Absence) from planning and design through to testing, deployment, go-live, and hypercare.
- Manage multiple Workday workstreams, ensuring delivery against agreed scope, timelines, and quality standards.
- Coordinate functional, technical, data, integration, and business readiness activities.
- Work closely with HR, IT, Payroll, and business stakeholders to ensure effective solution delivery.
- Manage Workday implementation partners and third-party suppliers.
- Own project plans, governance, RAID management, dependencies, and programme reporting.
- Lead testing, UAT, cutover, and go-live activities.
- Provide clear reporting and communication to senior stakeholders and steering committees.
- Manage risks, issues, and dependencies throughout the programme.

Essential Experience
- Proven experience as a Workday Project Manager / Programme Manager.
- Multiple end-to-end Workday HCM implementations delivered successfully.
- Experience delivering Workday Time & Absence on 2+ implementations.
- Strong understanding of the Workday implementation lifecycle, including design, testing, data, integrations, cutover, and deployment.
- Experience managing complex, multi-workstream Workday programmes.
- Strong stakeholder management experience across HR, IT, and business functions.
- Experience managing Workday implementation partners / systems integrators.
- Excellent project governance, planning, and delivery skills.

Desirable Experience
- Workday certification or formal Workday implementation training.
- Experience delivering international or multi-country Workday programmes.
- Experience within large or complex organisations.
- PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent project management certification.
