Workday Specialist | Newly Created Role
Warwick (Hybrid – flexible on days in the office for the right person)
£60,000 - £70,000 (FT, FTC or part-time pro rata options)
A newly created seat on a lean, high-impact systems team, with a full Workday HCM stack to own and a genuine mandate to shape how it's used. You won't be one of twelve specialising in a single module. For this role, you'll need real breadth across the platform, and the autonomy to take real projects from requirements through to deployment.
Can you hold your own across multiple Workday HCM modules rather than just one or two?
Are you ready to lead system changes end-to-end, configuration, testing, training, deployment?
With 500 colleagues being integrated onto the platform and recent M&A activity still bedding in, this is a role for someone who wants live project work, not steady-state maintenance.
What you'll own:
- Day-to-day configuration, administration and optimisation of a full Workday HCM suite — HR, absence, onboarding, talent, time tracking, compensation, benefits, payroll, employee experience
- Acting as the go-to Workday SME for HR teams — troubleshooting, resolving, and spotting process improvements
- Leading system changes end-to-end: requirements gathering, configuration, testing, training and deployment
- Supporting live integration and M&A project work, including onboarding a significant new employee population onto the platform
- Data loads, reporting and business process configuration, plus system documentation and governance to support compliance and audit readiness
- Working closely with HR, IT and third-party partners on releases, enhancements and ongoing platform investment

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What you'll need:
- Hands-on experience configuring, administering and supporting Workday in an HRIS, People Systems or Workday Specialist role
- Genuine breadth — comfortable across 3+ modules rather than deep in just one (Payroll module experience is a strong plus)
- Strong knowledge of Workday business processes, security, organisations, reporting and EIBs
- A track record delivering system enhancements and continuous improvement, not just BAU support
- Confident stakeholder management — able to translate business requirements into system solutions and push back where needed
- Experience supporting businesses at volume (2,000+ employees) is ideal given the scale here
Worth knowing:
- Flexible on how this role is structured: full-time permanent, an 18-month FTC, or part-time (3 days/week)
- Joining a small, close-knit systems team of three at a genuine inflection point — Workday investment expanding, not standing still
- Two-stage virtual process: a 30-minute technical conversation and a 45-minute generalist/stakeholder-fit discussion
