About the Role
A UK infrastructure specialist with operations is currently facing a significant amount of operational drag. Their field teams are spending too much time on manual reconciliations and chasing down approvals through email threads instead of focusing on their core work. We have been brought in to bridge the gap between their existing software and the daily tasks their teams need to complete.
As a Workflow Automation Assistant, you will help us identify these points of friction and build the routing rules that fix them. This is a full-time, fully remote role designed for someone at the start of their career who prefers solving practical problems over discussing abstract theories.

What You Will Do
- Audit existing logs to find where data entry errors occur most frequently in the infrastructure project.
- Draft new routing rules for simple approval processes to replace messy email threads and manual follow-ups.
- Assist in the manual reconciliation of datasets during the initial phase of an automation project to clean up stale data.
- Update SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to reflect new automated steps and ensure everyone knows their role.
- Watch the cutover process during live deployments to spot errors in real time and report them to the lead engineer.
- Document every change in a centralized decision log so the client and our team know exactly what was modified and why.
- Perform basic configuration checks in workflow tools to ensure that triggers and actions are firing as intended.
- Identify the workarounds that staff have created to deal with friction and help turn them into official, automated paths.
- Maintain the project runbooks to ensure they are accurate and easy for the client to follow after we leave.

What You Bring
- A natural curiosity for how software systems talk to each other and a desire to see how things work under the hood.
- Basic familiarity with common office tools and perhaps some exposure to simple automation platforms or logic-based tasks.
- The ability to write clear, plain English instructions that a non-technical user can understand and follow without help.
- Patience for looking through spreadsheets or logs to find a single missing piece of data or a broken link in a chain.
- A preference for finishing a task completely and checking the results rather than moving on to the next thing too quickly.
- Willingness to learn how to read basic documentation and understand the seams where different software programs meet.
- Comfort working in a fully remote environment where most communication is written and asynchronous.
