Workflow Automation Assistant

We are adding a Workflow Automation Assistant to our team to support a large-scale project for a major British infrastructure firm. This client manages complex operations that require data to move reliably between various internal tools and legacy systems. Your job will be to help us build and maintain the automations that keep their data accurate and their processes running smoothly without manual intervention.

About Pixel Systems

Pixel Systems is a small, remote software agency. We do not build flashy consumer apps or marketing websites that disappear in a year. Instead, we focus on the practical tools that businesses actually use every day. We build admin panels, CRM integrations, and the database systems that replace sprawling spreadsheets. Our clients come to us when they need their different software tools to finally talk to one another.

We believe that working code is better than a perfect plan that never ships. Our approach is straightforward and professional. We provide fixed quotes, do weekly demos, and hand over everything (the code, the documentation, and walkthrough videos) when we are finished. We use reliable technologies like Node, React, and Postgres because we want the software we build to be stable and easy to maintain. We are a team of developers and designers who prefer solving real operational headaches over chasing the latest trends.

The role

In this position, you will work on the practical side of software integration. Much of your day will involve connecting different platforms so they can share information without human error. You will set up automated triggers to move data from a project management tool into a central database or help clean up records before they are imported into a new system. This role is fully remote, and you will be working closely with our senior developers to ensure these automations are stable and well-documented.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

A typical day might involve:

  • Testing a new data pipeline
  • Updating documentation for a client
  • Troubleshooting why a specific record did not sync correctly

You will also help create guides for our clients so they know exactly how their new systems work. It is work that requires a high degree of accuracy and a focus on the small details that keep a large system functional.

What you bring

You do not need years of professional experience to do this job well, but you do need to be highly organized and logically minded. We are looking for someone who enjoys puzzles and gets a sense of satisfaction from seeing a task happen automatically. You should be comfortable learning new software tools quickly and be able to explain technical steps in plain English. This role involves a lot of detail-oriented work, such as checking that every field in a database matches up correctly after a migration. You should be someone who values work that solves a problem, even if that work is not particularly high-profile.

Requirements

  • A logical approach to solving problems
  • The ability to follow complex instructions and document your own steps
  • Comfort working independently in a remote setting
  • Strong written communication skills for documentation and team updates
  • A high level of attention to detail when handling data
  • The ability to manage your own time without constant supervision
  • Patience for troubleshooting and testing repetitive tasks

Helpful background

While this is an entry-level position, it helps if you have a basic understanding of how the web works. If you have ever played around with APIs, used automation tools like Zapier or Make, or written a bit of code in JavaScript or Python for a school project, you will find it easier to get started. Familiarity with SQL or basic database structures is a plus. If you have ever managed a complex spreadsheet or helped a small organization coordinate their digital tools, that experience is very relevant to what we do. We use Node, React, and Postgres, so any exposure to those is helpful, but we are happy to teach the right person the specifics of our workflow.

Working at Pixel Systems

We keep things simple. There are no deep management hierarchies or layers of middle management here. You will work directly with the people building the software. Because we are a remote team, we rely on written updates and weekly demos to keep everyone on the same page. This is a permanent, full-time position that is paid, and we offer a salary that is competitive for the entry-level market. Working here means you will see the results of your effort quickly. You will be building things that help real people, like site managers or logistics coordinators, do their jobs more effectively.

We are a team of people who like to get things done without the usual corporate drama. We focus on building software that lasts and being honest about what it takes to get there. If you prefer a quiet, productive environment where the goal is simply to build good tools and solve real headaches, you will fit in well at Pixel Systems.
